Notes

'Darent Valley' butterfly bush (Buddleja davidii 'Darent Valley') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, pollinator gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It has an arching habit and grows at a rapid rate. Fragrant flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Feather reed grass, Black Baccara rose, and Ornamental onion.
