Notes

'Dark Purple' spotted dead nettle (Lamium maculatum 'Dark Purple') is a perennial for borders, ground cover, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist, loamy soil. It creeps, grows at a rapid rate, and tolerates drought. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It blooms in spring and again in summer.

Pairs well with Frances Williams hosta, Pacific bleeding heart, and Autumn crocus.
