Notes
'Frances Williams' hosta (Hosta 'Frances Williams') is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and spreads 35 to 47 inches, so give it room. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the fragrant blooms.
Pairs well with Aureola Japanese forest grass, Astilbe, and Wood anemone.
