Notes

'Chequers' spotted dead nettle (Lamium maculatum 'Chequers') is a perennial for ground cover, shade gardens, borders, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and spreads with a creeping habit, so give it room. It stands about 12 inches tall and tolerates drought. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Siebold's hosta, Lenten rose, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Fringed bleeding heart.
