Notes

'Davey' apple (Malus domestica 'Davey') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It has a dense habit and grows at a moderate rate. Bees visit the flowers in early to late spring. S. Lothrop Davenport bred it in 1928 as a seedling of 'McIntosh'.

Pairs well with Cornflower, Greig's tulip, Prairie dropseed, and Lingonberry.
