Notes
'David Ramsey' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'David Ramsey') is a shrub for cut flowers, hedges, shade gardens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Pink to blue blooms open from early to late summer and again in early to mid autumn. It grows fast and stands 48 to 60 inches tall.
Pairs well with June hosta, Autumn fern, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Lenten rose.
