Notes

'Daybreak' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Daybreak') is a perennial for borders and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, semi-double pink flowers have violet shading and open early to mid spring. Buds come in clusters on long, strong stems. George Hollis bred it in 1909.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Grape hyacinth, and Sedge.
