Notes

'Daystar' peony (Paeonia 'Daystar') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Fragrant, single goblets of pale yellow open almost first among the peonies, on red stems. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. A.P. Saunders introduced it in 1949.

Pairs well with Clustered bellflower, Black Hero tulip, and Western sword fern.
