Notes

'Dayton' apple (Malus domestica 'Dayton') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Bees visit its blossoms, which open from early to late spring. This apple is grown for fresh eating, so plant a second apple nearby because it is not self-fertile. PRI bred it in 1988.

Pairs well with Pink Lemonade blueberry, Wild geranium, and Sedge.
