Notes

'Debutante' Japanese pieris (Pieris japonica 'Debutante') is a shrub for borders, containers, specimen planting, and foundation beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It stays dense and evergreen, and its fragrant spring blooms attract bees and butterflies. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly to 35 to 47 inches tall and wide.

Pairs well with Japanese maple, Japanese forest grass, and Casa Blanca lily.
