Notes

'D'Emerald' finger lime (Citrus australasica 'D'Emerald') is a small tree or shrub for the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun. Fragrant white flowers open in summer. The long fruit are filled with tiny green vesicles called lime caviar, which are grown for desserts, salads, cocktails, and marmalades. It needs lots of heat to flower and fruit.

Pairs well with Hass avocado, Angelonia, and Creeping fig.
