Notes

'Desert Sun' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Desert Sun') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer tend to pass it by. It grows fast and bears red, gold, or bicolor blooms. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers, and the plant tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Radiance cosmos, Profusion Double Deep Salmon zinnia, and Red fescue.
