Notes

'Diamond' astilbe (Astilbe rosea 'Diamond') is a perennial for borders, shade gardens, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy soil. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms. It forms a clump that reaches 24 to 36 inches tall. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Columbine, Fire and Ice hosta, and Western sword fern.
