Notes

'Die Lian Hua' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Die Lian Hua') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The purplish-red single flowers are fragrant and have tufted centers that look like butterflies resting on the blooms. Jun Tao bred it, and the upright stems reach about 41 inches tall.

Pairs well with Picture tulip, Sedge, African Queen lily, and Arizona Sun blanket flower.
