Notes

'Dionysus' peony (Paeonia 'Dionysus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Nassos Daphnis bred it, and it bears fragrant, bright red single blooms with veins running from the center to the edge of each petal. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The stems are strong and the foliage is dark.

Pairs well with Catmint, Weigela, Big bluestem, and Grape hyacinth.
