Notes
Downy clematis (Clematis rehderiana) is a vine for ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Its sweetly fragrant, bell-shaped flowers grow in clusters. They open light yellow and age to the color of parchment. If you cut it to the ground in early spring, it grows about 8 to 10 feet each year.
Pairs well with Salal, Western redbud, and Fountain grass.
