Notes
'Doyenné du Comice' pear (Pyrus communis 'Doyenné du Comice') is a tree for food gardens, pollinator gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White spring flowers are fragrant and draw butterflies, bees, and birds. The tree grows upright and can reach 8 to 10 feet tall and wide, so give it room.
Pairs well with Goldenrod, Feather reed grass, Summer savory, and Rock rose.
