Notes

'Dre' subarctic ladyfern (Athyrium filix-femina 'Dre') is a fern for shade gardens, woodland settings, borders, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist soil. The apple green fronds have red petioles and criss-crossed, backward-facing pinnae that end in a small, crested, forked tip. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It may be a sport of 'Victoriae'.

Pairs well with Wood lily, Lungwort, and Western sword fern.
