Notes

'Dusky Challenger' iris (Iris 'Dusky Challenger') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, cut flowers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and the fragrant flowers attract butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Plants grow about 35 to 47 inches tall.

Pairs well with Columbine, Cinnamon fern, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
