Notes

Eastern blue-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium atlanticum) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, rain gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, sandy soil. Its grass-like clumps have pale-green leaves. Loose clusters of pale-blue, yellow-centered flowers open on flattened stems, and bees visit them.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Big bluestem, and Royal fern.
