Notes

'Edgar Jessep' peony (Paeonia 'Edgar Jessep') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The brilliant red double blooms have a rose center and a fragrant scent, and butterflies and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. William S. Bockstoce bred it.

Pairs well with Stella de Oro daylily, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Limelight hydrangea.
