'Edouard André' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Edouard André') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its blooms are crimson with violet shading. Pick a few stems to bring the color indoors. Gustave Croux introduced it in 1897.

Pairs well with Korean spice viburnum, Coralbells, and Stargazer lily.
