Notes

'Egremont Russet' apple (Malus domestica 'Egremont Russet') is a tree for the food garden and for use as a specimen. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White and pink flowers open in spring and draw bees. You can grow it for fresh eating, and the fully russeted skin has a nutty, smoky flavor.

Pairs well with Flowering quince, Garlic chives, Pink Lemonade blueberry, and Black Parrot tulip.
