Notes

'El Torcal' autumn crocus (Crocus asturicus 'El Torcal') is a bulb for rock gardens, borders, and naturalizing. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). White flowers open in mid autumn on plants about 5 inches tall. Each bloom has a long white tube, a hairy throat, and a thread-like orange-red style. The dark green leaves have a grayish-green line along the midvein.

Pairs well with Snowdrop, Picture tulip, and Western sword fern.
