Notes

'Elegans' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Elegans') is a tree for specimen plantings, accents, containers, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows slowly into a broad shape, so give it room to spread. Bees and birds visit it, and it is drought tolerant once settled.

Pairs well with Subarctic ladyfern, Elijah Blue blue fescue, and Spring snowflake.
