Notes

'Elke' bloody geranium (Geranium sanguineum 'Elke') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It forms a clumping, evergreen mound about 12 inches tall with purple flowers that attract bees and butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Drought tolerance makes it an easy plant to grow.

Pairs well with Thrift, Lamb’s ear, and Jerusalem sage.
