Notes
'Encore' magnolia (Magnolia loebneri 'Encore') is a tree for borders, containers, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays compact and blooms heavily, with four flower buds at each branch tip. Fragrant white flowers open from early to late spring and draw butterflies, bees, and birds.
Pairs well with Korean spice viburnum, Queen of Night tulip, and Christmas fern.
