Notes

'Esther Heinzman' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Esther Heinzman') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. White guard petals surround medium yellow centers with a red flush at the base. Each strong stem carries 3 to 4 buds and reaches 44 to 48 inches tall. Don Hollingsworth bred it, and Dale Heinzman introduced it in 2000.

Pairs well with Arizona Sun blanket flower, Black Hero tulip, and Ostrich fern.
