Notes

'Ethel Mars' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ethel Mars') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, semi-double white flowers have pink tints and open from mid to late spring into early summer. Arthur L. Murawska bred it in 1943. The stems are good, so the medium sized blooms work well in a vase.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Hollyhock, Sensitive fern, and Picture tulip.
