Notes

'Etienne Dessert' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Etienne Dessert') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears single, Tyrian pink flowers in mid to late spring. The plant is medium size and erect, so it holds a tidy shape in the bed. Auguste Dessert bred it in 1913.

Pairs well with Hollyhock, Prairie dropseed, Black Hero tulip, and Ostrich fern.
