Notes

'Evil Ways' butterfly bush (Buddleja davidii 'Evil Ways') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Dark purple, fragrant blooms open from early to late summer and again in autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The arching branches grow fast, so give it room.

Pairs well with Feather reed grass, Ornamental onion, and Black Baccara rose.
