Notes

'Exotic' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Exotic') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, semi-double blooms are deep pink with lighter edges and lighter pink centers. They open in early summer in the Marie Jacquin shape. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.

Pairs well with Brown-eyed Susan, Rose, Tall fescue, and Western sword fern.
