Notes
'Flamingo' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Flamingo') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, containers, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast, stands about 4 to 5 feet tall, and tolerates salt. Blooms open in summer and can last into autumn. Deer rarely make it their first choice.
Pairs well with Astilbe, Siebold's hosta, Japanese forest grass, and Autumn fern.
