Notes
'Footlights' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Footlights') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large, double flowers have broad, pure white outer petals around a tight ball of narrow, entwined petals. A golden glow shines through from the center, which gives the bloom a soft look. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.
Pairs well with Compass plant, Smooth hydrangea, Spanish bluebell, and Foxtail barley.
