Notes

'Ruby Falls' Texas redbud (Cercis canadensis 'Ruby Falls') is a tree for specimen planting, borders, winter interest, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Pink to magenta flowers open in early spring, and its weeping branches carry burgundy-purple leaves that turn gold in fall. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Stake it firmly until it reaches eight feet.

Pairs well with Witch hazel, Little bluestem, and Oakleaf hydrangea.
