Notes

Forsythia sage (Salvia madrensis) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Yellow flowers open in early to late autumn and again in early to late winter, and butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms. Deer tend to pass it by. Its clumping form grows fast and reaches well over head height.

Pairs well with Blue mistflower, Society garlic, and Mondo grass.
