Notes
'Frank Elder' iris (Iris 'Frank Elder') is a bulb for border, container, and cottage garden plantings, and it works well as an accent. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The large, rounded flowers are blue with a subtle touch of yellow-green, and the falls are spotted blue with a yellow crest.
Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Japanese forest grass, and Avens.
