Notes

'Frans Hals' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Frans Hals') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single, fragrant flowers are a deep purple blue and bloom in early to late spring, and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. M. van Waveren & Zn. bred it.

Pairs well with Carnaval De Nice tulip, Krossa Regal hosta, and Blue fescue.
