Notes

'Freckles' Spanish traveller’s joy (Clematis cirrhosa 'Freckles') is a vine for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Fragrant white flowers with red freckles open in late autumn and winter, and again in spring. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Raymond J. Evison bred it.

Pairs well with Black hellebore, Party Dress Pink Lenten rose, Ruby Giant autumn crocus, and Daffodil.
