Notes

'Queen Sophia' French marigold (Tagetes patula 'Queen Sophia') is an annual for borders, containers, and accents. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It forms a low clump up to 12 inches tall with fragrant flowers in brown, copper, yellow, orange, and red. Butterflies and hummingbirds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Globe amaranth, Double Click Snow Puff cosmos, and Red fescue.
