Notes

'E.J. Friesen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'E.J. Friesen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The bush grows about 35 inches tall with fine foliage. Its large, red double flowers bloom mid-season and have few stamens. The stems are fairly strong for the size of the flowers.

Pairs well with Brown-eyed Susan, Ostrich fern, Black Hero tulip, and Shrub rose.
