Notes

'Fringe of Gold' iris (Iris 'Fringe of Gold') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, cut flowers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It grows about 35 to 47 inches tall and blooms in spring and again in summer, and butterflies visit the flowers. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Once settled, it tolerates dry spells.

Pairs well with Columbine, Hardy geranium, and Thalia daffodil.
