Notes

'Fubuki' Japanese forest grass (Hakonechloa macra 'Fubuki') is a grass for shade gardens, woodland, borders, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It forms an arching mound 12 to 18 inches tall and grows slowly. Yellow-green blooms appear from early to late summer, and the foliage changes color in fall. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Lady fern, Lungwort, and Lily of the valley.
