Notes
'Stripe It Rich' Japanese forest grass (Hakonechloa macra 'Stripe It Rich') is a grass for shade gardens, containers, borders, and woodland plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into an arching mound 12 to 18 inches tall. Yellow-green blooms appear in spring, summer, and autumn. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Sum and Substance hosta, Foam flower, Christmas fern, and Oakleaf hydrangea.
