Notes

'Fukaikiu' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Fukaikiu') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. A Japanese breeder developed it. The woody stems stay above ground through winter, so skip hard pruning and let the shrub build its framework over the years.

Pairs well with Hazelnut, Queen of Night tulip, Inkberry, and Garlic chives.
