Notes

'Gaisen' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Gaisen') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It belongs to the peony family, Paeoniaceae. Give it a spot in the border where it has room to grow as a shrub. Chugai introduced it in 1932.

Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Paris coral bells, Greig's tulip, and Christmas fern.
