Notes

'George S. Morrill' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'George S. Morrill') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Arthur L. Murawska bred it in 1946. The double red flowers have a slightly blue tone and open from mid to late spring into early summer.

Pairs well with Siberian squill, Prairie dropseed, Christmas fern, and Brown-eyed Susan.
