Notes

'Gold Rush' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gold Rush') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Roy G. Klehm bred it in 1989. The fragrant white blooms have a gold center of wavy stamenodes and ruffled guard petals. Stems are strong and reach about 35 inches tall, so the flowers hold up well when cut.

Pairs well with Smooth hydrangea, Royal fern, Spanish bluebell, and Japanese spirea.
