Notes

'Golden Arrow' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Golden Arrow') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type flowers have deep red overlapping petals, and yellow arrowheads tip the staminodes in the center. Col. Jesse C. Nicholls bred it as a seedling of 'Mikado'.

Pairs well with Spotted dead nettle, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
