Notes

'Golden West' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Golden West') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type flowers have rose pink guard petals around a center of golden yellow petaloids. The blooms look like an anemone. Darwin M. Andrews bred it.

Pairs well with Pyrethrum, Spanish bluebell, and Pussytoes.
